Women in STEM Scholarship
Opportunity Information
The Women in STEM Scholarship supports students pursuing calculus-based majors in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM). The scholarship recognizes students whose educational journeys have been shaped by navigating underrepresentation in STEM and who demonstrate resilience, academic commitment, and clear academic and career goals
Qualifications
- Applicant must be a calculus-based STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) major.
- Applicant’s cumulative GPA must be a 2.50 minimum.
- Applicant must currently be enrolled at least as a half-time student (i.e. enrolled in at least 6 units).
- Applicant must demonstrate financial need.

- In 300 to 400 words, describe how being a woman in STEM, or as an ally supporting equity in STEM, has shaped your educational journey. You may reflect on challenges you have navigated, strengths you have developed, and how this experience influences your academic goals and future plans.
- Write a brief statement (up to 250 words) about your financial need.

- By checking this box, you acknowledge that applicants awarded a scholarship will be required to attend an in-person award ceremony hosted on campus at San Jose City College. Attendance at the award ceremony will be mandatory for all scholarship recipients, unless the student has a class scheduled during the time of the ceremony or if the student has an extenuating circumstance. You also acknowledge that you will be required to submit a "Thank-You Letter" to the donor(s) providing the scholarship opportunity.
