AFT 6157R Scholarship
Opportunity Information
The AFT6157R Scholarship was created in March 2025 by the retiree group of educators who have worked tirelessly within our district over the years to provide a quality education to our students. The purpose of this scholarship is to encourage and motivate our continuing students to complete their education goals. Students with a GPA 2.5 or higher are encouraged to apply.
Qualifications
- Applicant must have completed 15 units at San Jose City College.
- Applicant’s cumulative GPA must be a 2.50 minimum.
- Applicant must demonstrate financial need.

- What are your current educational goals? Write one or two paragraphs (do not write more than one page) on the following topic: where do you see yourself in 5 years?
- Write a brief statement (up to 250 words) about your financial need.

- By checking this box, you acknowledge that applicants awarded a scholarship will be required to attend an in-person award ceremony hosted on campus at San Jose City College. Attendance at the award ceremony will be mandatory for all scholarship recipients, unless the student has a class scheduled during the time of the ceremony or if the student has an extenuating circumstance. You also acknowledge that you will be required to submit a "Thank-You Letter" to the donor(s) providing the scholarship opportunity.
