Umoja Transfer Student Scholarship
Opportunity Information
This scholarship is for students active in the Umoja Learning Community that will be transferring to a four-year university during the upcoming Fall semester.
Named for the Kiswahili word meaning “unity,” Umoja is a community of educators and learners committed to the academic success, personal growth, and self-actualization of African American and other students.
Qualifications
- Applicant must be actively involved in the Umoja Learning Community.
- Applicant must be transferring to a four-year university during the upcoming Fall semester.
- Applicant must have completed at least 12 units at San Jose City College.
- Applicant’s cumulative GPA must be a 3.00 minimum.

- By checking this box, you acknowledge that applicants awarded a scholarship will be required to attend an in-person award ceremony hosted on campus at San Jose City College. Attendance at the award ceremony will be mandatory for all scholarship recipients, unless the student has a class scheduled during the time of the ceremony or if the student has an extenuating circumstance. You also acknowledge that you will be required to submit a "Thank-You Letter" to the donor(s) providing the scholarship opportunity.
