This scholarship is in memory Nicole Amon, a champion of French language and culture who spent over 35 years of her life teaching in the South Bay Area. This is award is for a San Jose City College student currently enrolled in a French language course that will be transferring to a four-year university during the upcoming Fall semester.
Qualifications
- Applicant’s cumulative GPA must be a 3.25 minimum.
- Applicant must currently be enrolled in a French language course.
- Applicant must be transferring to a four-year university during the upcoming Fall semester.
- Applicant must be enrolled as a full-time student (i.e. enrolled in at least 12 units) during the upcoming Fall semester.
Supplemental Questions
- Provide a personal recommendation from an SJCC French instructor.
- Provide an essay addressing, “The value of Language Study in Today’s Globalized and Interconnected Society".

- By checking this box, you acknowledge that applicants awarded a scholarship will be required to attend an in-person award ceremony hosted on campus at San Jose City College. Attendance at the award ceremony will be mandatory for all scholarship recipients, unless the student has a class scheduled during the time of the ceremony or if the student has an extenuating circumstance. You also acknowledge that you will be required to submit a "Thank-You Letter" to the donor(s) providing the scholarship opportunity.
