This scholarship is in memory Nicole Amon, a champion of French language and culture who spent over 35 years of her life teaching in the South Bay Area. This is award is for a San Jose City College student currently enrolled in a French language course that will be transferring to a four-year university during the upcoming Fall semester.

Qualifications

  • Applicant’s cumulative GPA must be a 3.25 minimum.
  • Applicant must currently be enrolled in a French language course.
  • Applicant must be transferring to a four-year university during the upcoming Fall semester.
  • Applicant must be enrolled as a full-time student (i.e. enrolled in at least 12 units) during the upcoming Fall semester.

Supplemental Questions

  1. Provide a personal recommendation from an SJCC French instructor.
  2. Provide an essay addressing, “The value of Language Study in Today’s Globalized and Interconnected Society".

  6. By checking this box, you acknowledge that applicants awarded a scholarship will be required to attend an in-person award ceremony hosted on campus at San Jose City College. Attendance at the award ceremony will be mandatory for all scholarship recipients, unless the student has a class scheduled during the time of the ceremony or if the student has an extenuating circumstance. You also acknowledge that you will be required to submit a "Thank-You Letter" to the donor(s) providing the scholarship opportunity.
