Associated Students Chuck Southward Continuing Student Scholarship

Opportunity Information
This scholarship was established by SJCC Associated Students in memory of Charles “Chuck” Southward, a former Dean of Counseling that was an advocate for SJCC students. This scholarship is for students that will be continuing at San Jose City College during the upcoming Fall semester.

Qualifications

  • Applicant must be attending San Jose City College during the upcoming Fall semester.
  • Applicant must have completed at least 12 units at San Jose City College.
  • Applicant’s cumulative GPA must be a 3.00 minimum.
  • Applicant must currently be enrolled as a full-time student (i.e. enrolled in at least 12 units).

Essay Requirement
Write a brief statement demonstrating how you participate in extra-curricular activities at SJCC or in the community. (100 – 300 words)

  3. By checking this box, you acknowledge that applicants awarded a scholarship will be required to attend an in-person award ceremony hosted on campus at San Jose City College. Attendance at the award ceremony will be mandatory for all scholarship recipients, unless the student has a class scheduled during the time of the ceremony or if the student has an extenuating circumstance. You also acknowledge that you will be required to submit a "Thank-You Letter" to the donor(s) providing the scholarship opportunity.
