Opportunity Information
The Harry Hass scholarship honors the memory of the late SJCC Professor’s dedication to biology students. The scholarship is awarded to an SJCC student who is transferring to advance their education in biological or allied health sciences (nursing, physical therapy). Preference will be given to students able to provide a letter of recommendation from a current faculty member of the San Jose City College Biology department

Qualifications

  • Applicant’s cumulative GPA must be a 3.20 minimum.
  • Applicant must be transferring to a four-year university in the upcoming Fall semester. Applicant must be majoring in Biology, Biochemistry, or Allied Health Sciences.

Write a brief statement describing how you intend to use your biology education. (100 – 300 words)

  6. By checking this box, you acknowledge that applicants awarded a scholarship will be required to attend an in-person award ceremony hosted on campus at San Jose City College. Attendance at the award ceremony will be mandatory for all scholarship recipients, unless the student has a class scheduled during the time of the ceremony or if the student has an extenuating circumstance. You also acknowledge that you will be required to submit a "Thank-You Letter" to the donor(s) providing the scholarship opportunity.
