Kelly Joesten Memorial
Opportunity Information
This scholarship was established in memory of Kathryn Kelly Joesten, a former SJECCD dispatcher with the Campus Police Department. Award is given to a San Jose City College student pursuing the Administration of Justice major and has evidence of volunteerism, internship or employment in law enforcement or social services. Preference will be given to a student with a personal recommendation from an SJCC Administration of Justice faculty member.
Qualifications
- Applicant must have completed at least 12 units at San Jose City College.
- Applicant must currently be enrolled as a full-time student (i.e. enrolled in at least 12 units).
Essay Requirements
- Write a brief statement showing evidence of volunteerism, internship, or employment in Law Enforcement or Social Services.(150 – 300 words)
- Describe how you plan to make a difference in the Administration of Justice field. (150 – 300 words)

- By checking this box, you acknowledge that applicants awarded a scholarship will be required to attend an in-person award ceremony hosted on campus at San Jose City College. Attendance at the award ceremony will be mandatory for all scholarship recipients, unless the student has a class scheduled during the time of the ceremony or if the student has an extenuating circumstance. You also acknowledge that you will be required to submit a "Thank-You Letter" to the donor(s) providing the scholarship opportunity.
