This award is in memory of civil rights activist Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
This award is for a San Jose City College student that will be transferring to a four-year university. African-American students will be given preference.
Qualifications
- Applicant must currently be enrolled as a full-time student (i.e. enrolled in at least 12 units).
- Applicant must be transferring to a four-year university next Fall semester.
Essay Requirements
- Write a short statement regarding your outstanding academic achievement or gradual improvement in academic performance.(100 – 300 words)
- Write a short statement describing your actual and/or potential contributions to the betterment of society. (100 – 300 words)

- By checking this box, you acknowledge that applicants awarded a scholarship will be required to attend an in-person award ceremony hosted on campus at San Jose City College. Attendance at the award ceremony will be mandatory for all scholarship recipients, unless the student has a class scheduled during the time of the ceremony or if the student has an extenuating circumstance. You also acknowledge that you will be required to submit a "Thank-You Letter" to the donor(s) providing the scholarship opportunity.
